PhD. Internationally acknowledged expert and manager, with extensive experience in administrative, high level managerial, consulting, and academic activities in the fields of port planning, management and operations, as well as in freight, intermodal and maritime transport and logistics. Ex- Chairman of the BoD and Chief Executive Officer of the privatised Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (ThPA SA) and ex-Member of the BoD of the South Europe Gateway Thessaloniki (SEGT) Ltd. Currently, Member of the BoD of ThPA SA. President EXANTAS National Port Training Institute, Greece. Professor of Practice and Programme Lead, MSc in Shipping and Port Management, CITY College, University of York Europe Campus. Affiliated Faculty, Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT), Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA.

Senior Member of the Task Force Team that drafted the Port Reform Law in Greece (1998). Led the corporatisation and IPO of Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (ThPA SA), Greece (2001) as CEO and Piraeus Port Authority SA (PPA SA), Greece (2003), as Chairman of the BoD and CEO. Previously, Director for Ports of the Hellenic Ministry of Merchant Marine; led national port investment programmes for Greek ports, national port pricing initiatives and supervised CBA analyses and EIA studies for all major port investment projects between 1986 and 1999. During the same period responsible for following all relevant European Union and international initiatives pertinent to port development and policy. Previous Co-director of Rutgers University, NJ, USA, CAIT's Freight and Maritime Program (FMP). Author and co-author of over one hundred twenty scientific journal articles, serves on various scientific committees. Visiting Professor / Scholar in many Academic Institutions worldwide. In April 2019, he has been selected as Port Professional of the month in Europe, by the European Seaports Organisation (ESPO).
