25/01/2023 | Dr. Joseph Shevel visits Ethiopia

Last week, GIMI President Dr Joseph Shevel landed in Addis Ababa to a warm welcome from Eng. Yonas Ayelew, the CEO of Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECWC). They met to discuss future training projects and to visit the new training centre specially built by the company. During his stay, Dr Shevel gave a lecture and signed an MOU with ECWC.

GIMI looks forward to training engineers in a number of areas, including public administration and project management as well as agriculture and water management.

During the trip, Dr Shevel also met with H.E. Ergogie Tesfaye (PhD), Minister of the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs and Dr Eyasu Elias, State Minister for Natural Resources Management to discuss special digital skills programmes for young women.

The trip was once again an opportunity to meet several GIMI graduates and lay the foundations for exciting projects to come and further strengthen ties between GIMI Israel and Ethiopia.
