Dr. Joseph Shevel, President of GIMI was delighted to host Major General (Ret.) Manzur, who is an old friend of Israel and of the Galilee Institute. Maj. Gen. Manzur is very active in the peace process and heads a Jordanian Centre for Peace and Cooperation. He visited GIMI to discuss cooperation in the new zone along the Jordan River. The idea is to establish a new educational and training centre in the "Free Zone Area" which will enable Jordanians and other senior officials from Arab States to study advanced studies at an Israeli Institute without having to enter Israel.
