10/07/2017 | GIMI Delivers a Programme for UDA Bus Rapid Transit Plc., Tanzania

The Institute recently designed a programme for a delegation from UDA Bus Rapid Transit Plc., Tanzania. The programme was tailor-made for the requirements of the UDA in Dar es Salaam following the participation of 3 employees in our Transport course. It incorporated theoretical issues related to the development and operation of public transport and discussion of actual issues on the ground. They discussed topics such as scheduling, dispatching, ticketing, vehicle maintenance, and interfacing with complementary modes of urban transport (e.g. Dala Dala buses…etc.), both in class and during professional tours to Haifa's bus rapid transit company and the biggest public bus company in Israel. The participants were deeply involved in the course, displaying a genuine interest in pioneering the way forward for public transport services.
