A six day seminar on forestry and endemic trees was held by Galilee Institute for senior officials from relevant organizations in Turkmenistan.
The programme was designed with the cooperation of The Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC).

Participants met with Israeli experts mainly from the Jewish National Fund (founded in 1901 to buy and develop land). One of the seminar highlights was meeting with JNF’s Chief Scientist, Mr. Omri Bone.

Participants also visited JNF’s nurseries and tree planting in the forests throughout the county as well as religious and historical sites.

Former ambassador of Israel to Turkmenistan Hon. Mr. Shemi Tzur took part in the closing ceremony and handed out diplomas to each participant.
