As part of the Ethiopian government's policy to improve the road system of this huge country, GIMI was chosen to train senior management staff of the Ethiopian Road Construction Corporation, the governmental body in charge of designing and building roads in Ethiopia.
The first group of engineers completed the first phase of training, which took place in Israel earlier this month. GIMI shared the company "Netivei Israel", the government owned company for transport infrastructure and other Israeli companies.
The first group of Ethiopian society includes 13 senior engineers, including the CEO, Mr. Habtamu Tegegne Destaye. During the advanced course and in addition to lectures of professors and Transport experts, participants visited various sites, such as the Urban Transport Centre in Holon, National Control Centres (Or Yehuda ), Tunnel Carriers such as the Nazareth tunnel, learned about renewing tires and many other topics related to transport planning and infrastructure.
Ethiopian CEO summed up the course with great appreciation to GIMI and “Netivei Israel”. Other groups of executives will attend future courses on advanced topics.
During the seminar, GIMI initiated meetings of the Ethiopian Executives with representatives of the Israeli companies interested in joining projects for planning and building roads in Ethiopia.
