Urban Development
Introduction
Cities and urban centers generate the majority of a country's GDP. Urban areas are then essential to developing more resilient economies. Planning is the key for urbanization to succeed and for cities to fulfill their social and economic potential. Due to the growing effects of climate change, migration to cities is occurring at a rapid pace. This requires cities to plan and provide services to the growing population, challenging the cities’ social and infrastructure services.
The Urbanization Planning Programme will provide participants with a comprehensive and fundamental understanding of an Israeli city. Emphasis will be put on inclusion programmes and infrastructure solutions in cities, often challenged by diverse populations and rapid growth.
