The accelerated expansion of human activities has produced unforeseen, unplanned, negative influences on the environment. This has generated a demand for high quality recruits in the areas of research, planning and management concerned with the quality of the physical environment. These professionals must be involved in the ad-infinitum search for environmentally friendly approaches to socio-economic and spatial development.
